Anger
I read an interesting point of view regarding anger. True genuine expressed anger is a form of relaxation, it relaxes the face, the body, the nervous system. It is a way of standing up for yourself.
Anxiety on the other hand, is what the majority of people express when they think they express anger or have an angry outburst.
Anxiety tightens the face, the body, the muscles, it stresses. This kind of anger actually comes from anxiety.
The fear to show yourself, to instill boundaries, to say no, to express your innermost feeling and thoughts, to stand up and say here I am. This is what many fear and are anxious about. instead they bottle it up.
Boundaries are an issue or autonomy, as someone who has not been able to define their self concept, their own autonomy or their own boundaries, before someone else comes along and implements their self on top of them. So they must conform and submit themselves to be able to get along.
That doesn’t help. That is not living a healthy life. Bottling up your self, your emotions, leads to sickness and illness.
- Acceptance - compassionate curosity we look at ourselves with the same non judgemental acceptance we would wish to accord anyone who has suffered and needs our help.
- Awareness - read emotional signs of stress or the congruence of what people say and what their body says, emotional reality
- Autonomy - the development of an internal sense of control
- Anger - is not acting out, it is expression, healthy anger leaves the individual, I matter, anger respects boundaries, standing on your own feet does not invade other people’s boundaries
- Attachment - connection to the world, connection is vital to healing, emotional support is critical
- Assertion - the declaration to the world that we are and that we are who we are
How to release stress out of the body, before it turns into serious illness.
why do we overeat, what are we masking? a vacuum. an emptiness that needs filling. fear.
why do i feel like i have to mother H. that I am responsible for everything. I’m not. Stop controlling the environment. let it go. let nature take its course. you control nothing in life except how you control yourself and your mind and your reactions.
Understand your reactions.
