Like a loaded weapon

How should we treat our mind power? Here is some food for thought:

  • Treat our mind power with the same respect reserved for a loaded weapon.
  • Always be sure that our mind is free of influence before using it, e.g. recognise the real reasons for thinking, feeling or doing something.
  • If we’re in a bad mood, take time out before firing our thoughts off.
  • Empty and clean our mind every day.
  • Never direct our mind against anything just for fun. Thoughts and emotions have an effect.
  • Don’t fill up a clear mind with distractions like alcohol or drugs, junk food, and mindless noise.
  • Take responsibility for our thoughts, not only our feelings and actions.
  • Be committed. Mental discipline is a long-term investment.
  • Silence is our ultimate camouflage, defence and weapon. Keep our mind still, and reduce any unnecessary influence.
  • A quiet mind keeps us in the present - the here and now - where we can be who we truly are.
